Soup

"Look, prof. I see you've got me. I meant to write 'soul' but it clearly says 'soup'".

"Yes."

"And in exchange for your ... soup ... you've been given mastery of all knowledge in the heavens and the earth."

"Yes. I'm satisfied with the terms of our agreement, by the way."

"Well I'm not."

"Yes? I don't see how you have a leg to stand on?"

"Well, contractually, no, it's true I do not."

"Yes."

"But, I was wondering ... out of compassion, perhaps? ... with that mastery of all knowledge in the heavens and the earth ..."

"Yes?"

"... perhaps you could manage to make BETTER soup?"

This was in response to a prompt on reddit.com r/WritingPrompts, "Thanks to a typo in the contract, the professor gained complete mastery of all the knowledge in the heavens and the earth, in exchange for his soup." This was more a comment than a story, but I posted it quickly and people liked it, and upvoted the prompt, which gained the prompt more popularity so more people upvoted it, and wrote other better stories for it which upvoted the prompt more, which made more people read the prompt and storeis give this story an upvote too. My story on its own here is awfully low-effort.
