Are you still using the vi or the emacs editor? Consider checking out a more powerful editor, XEmacs, an improved version of the emacs editor. It makes coding a lot easier: XEmacs allows you to color code keywords, comments, #ifdef's, etc. (You can pick the colors). This allows you to see typing mistakes instantly. It's also free.
